DSP Betty

Provider(s) of the Month : September part 5

This week we are featuring FIVE amazing Direct Support Professionals during National DSP Week! We are celebrating ALL DSPs — they are the heart and soul of everything we do to help people with disabilities feel, and be, included in the community. #DSPRW19

DSP WEEK ALL STAR:
Betty Long, Independent Provider

Betty has completely devoted her life to helping individuals with DD and has made a tremendous difference in so many lives over the years including her son, David.   Betty is retiring from being a provider after 30+ years. When she started back in the 80’s, she provided what was then a foster care service and had 3 folks that lived in her home as part of the family.  She had two women that were under 20 and one gentleman who was in his 30s.  The guy stayed with her until Betty semi-retired 3 years ago. She always just wanted to make a difference in their lives.  She truly is an inspiration to so many including her daughter, who also is a DSP.

Congratulations, Betty, and best wishes on retirement!
