With the recent announcement of Leia Snyder accepting another position at another organization, the Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities is currently seeking candidates with an established record of innovation, management and communication skills, and vision for the future to become their next Superintendent.
The ideal candidate will exhibit the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Board members, individuals eligible for services and their families, employees, providers, advocates, and Ross County at large. The Board desires a collegial leader with proven fiscal understanding, creativity, strategic thinking skills and political savvy. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in community based services, levy campaigns, and a commitment to community involvement. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage the Ross County Board in a way that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Organization Overview:
The Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities, also known locally as the Pioneer Center, provides a wide range of services and supports to over 750 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Ross County. Programs operated by the Board include but are not limited to:
- Early Intervention Services and Help Me Grow Service Coordination
- Inclusive Preschool Classrooms and Services
- School-Age Services including Pioneer School, Satellite Classrooms, Education for Deaf/HOH Students and a Range of Therapy Services
- Service and Support Administration, Supports for Employment and Advocacy, Positive Behavior Supports, Assistive Technology and Remote Supports, and Health and Safety Oversight
- Residential Services including Medicaid Waiver Administration and Housing Assistance
- Grant Funded Services for At-Risk Youth and Coordination of the Family and Children First Council
The Board works closely with many community partners including independent and agency providers of Medicaid services, school districts, mental health organizations, businesses and employers and other social services agencies.
