Occupational therapy includes improving, developing, or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation; improving ability to perform tasks for independent functioning if functions are impaired or lost; and, preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function, and orientation and mobility services.
Screen new students for the purpose of determining if a student would benefit from Occupational Therapy. Develop individualized goals to be incorporated into each student’s IEP. Provides appropriate occupational therapy services that support the goals of each student’s IEP. Monitors each student’s progress and response to treatment and consults with the supervising OT if modification is warranted. Orientation and mobility services; spatial and environmental concepts and use of information received by the senses to establish, maintain, or regain orientation and line of travel.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree and/or any other educational requirements required for ODE & OTPT & AT Licensure. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Satisfactory background evaluations. Therapeutic Assault Prevention System certification.
